Carsten Schade studied Architecture and Urban Design at the HFBK University of Fine Arts Hamburg, the Ecole nationale supérieure d’architecture de Nantes and at the HafenCity University Hamburg.

He worked several years as an architect and as an artist for art within architecture. Since 2017 he is a research and education staff member and member of the urbanLab at the OWL University of Applied Sciences.
