Studying architecture at the University of OWL University of Applied Sciences. Lukas Engel’s main focus is the reusability of modernist buildings as well as industrial and cultural sites. Especially, the concept of “cradle to cradle” relates to his keen interest in sustainability.

While being an assistant to Prof. ir. Melenhorst, he also was a student member of the CAAD appeals committee.
As a draftsman at Oehme and Partner, he worked on projects such as the Theater Gütersloh, Stadtbibliothek Bielefeld, Stadthalle Bielefeld, BMW, DMG Mori, Schüco.. Furthermore, he was already able to land his own jobs, completing visualisations for Miele, Founders Foundation (Bertelsmann Stiftung), Dr. Wolff, Porta and other Architects and Designer.
